Art Exhibition "Coup d'oeil - Corsica and Provence" OPENING

Mixed media drawings and oil encaustic paintings by Jean-Louis Diaz

The Costa Verde collection

This collection is inspired by two recent trips to the Costa Verde (the green coast) of North-Eastern Corsica. This area is renowned for its ruggedly beautiful and wild forested mountains, which reach down to the shore-line of the Mediterranean.
The collection comprises 6 large mixed media drawings on Canson Montval paper on which I have used a combination of an acrylic wash, charcoal and dry pastels.

Jouques en Provence.

I have included 3 recent oil encaustic paintings which represent the forest, fields and walking trails around Jouques.
The commune of Jouques, close to Aix-en-Provence is the largest green space after the Camargue. It is cultivated in parts with orchards, lavender fields and vineyards.
